Christmas Carol

Christmas Carol at The Arts Theatre

When Christmas-hating Sidney and his nephew Danny accidentally get locked into a theatre, the last thing they expect is to have to perform A Christmas Carol on stage in front of an expectant audience, aided by two out-of-work actors, the resident theatre cat, and a mouse with stage fright. But of course this is no ordinary night in the theatre, and a sumptuous sprinkling of festive charm is about to transform this Dickens classic like never before...

So as they set about putting on a show with whatever props and costumes they can get their hands on, and with a little help from the audience too, we're whisked away on Scrooge's magical journey to rediscover his love of life, mankind and Christmas.

Will Sid learn his own lessons as he plays the famous miser himself? Will Charlie the mouse ever pluck up the nerve to play Tiny Tim? And how on earth will four humans, a cat and a mouse tell the story of A Christmas Carol?

Presented by a company of extraordinary performers, including Gareth Hale as Scrooge, this festive treat is adapted by Susie McKenna with an original score by Steven Edis, the creative team behind the award-winning Christmas productions at The Hackney Empire.

This enchanting, feel-good musical version of Dickens' much-loved tale is set to delight young and old alike this Christmas. So Humbug be blow - come and enjoy the fun!
